Join us on a tropical beach for Bangkok Chess Club’s 21st open chess tournament, taking place at the luxurious Sheraton Hua Hin.
The tournament is a 9-round Swiss System with a classical time control, with one round per day over April 13-21. And if you would like to explore the beautiful surroundings, you can take a one-round bye (gaining half point) for a day off. There is plenty to see and do in and around the historic city of Hua Hin, for instance the Rajabhakti Park celebrating the Kings of Thailand.
The will also be a blitz tournament running over two evenings, qualifiers and a 16-player final. Grandmaster Wang Hao of China was the winner of the 20th BCC Blitz championship.
There are two groups for Classical Chess, Open (over 1800 ELO) and Challenger (under 2000 ELO or unrated).
There are frequent bus services from Bangkok’s airports directly to Hua Hin, taking 3–4 hours. If you tell them you are staying at the Sheraton, they will drop you nearby.
