This event is organized by Myanmar Chess Federation under the auspices of the Myanmar National Olympic Council.

28th September :
Arrival of Players
 : Technical Meeting – 2000 hour (Absent players shall not be paired for Round 1)

29th September :
Opening Ceremony – 0900 hour; Round 1 – 0930 hour; Round 2 – 1600 hour

30th September :
Round 3 – 0900 hour; Round 4 – 1600 hour

1st October :
Round 5 – 0900 hour; Round 6 – 1600 hour

2nd October :
Round 7 – 0900 hour; Round 8 – 1600 hour

3rd October :
Round 9 – 0900 hour : Closing Ceremony – 1600 hour

4th October : Departure of Players

3. Time Control and Format
Swiss System; FIDE-rated and titled; Rate of play will be 90 minutes for the whole game with 30 seconds increment for every move starting from the first move. Zero-Start shall be applied.

BCC Open 2017 Champion

A resurgent Nigel Short has made the Bangkok Chess Club Open Tournament his own, after winning for the third time. Despite an early setback with an unexpected  draw in the second round, strong play in subsequent rounds saw him seize and never relinquish the lead in the seventh, to become the clear winner of the 17th BCC Open 2017.

Entertainment at the Regent Cha-am

There will be two special promotions during the Songkran Water Festival at the Regent Cha-am, and it will be a great opportunity to get to know the other chess players and their families.

On Thursday 13th, there is a Thai Food Four Regions Buffet Dinner at Peppina Lawn – a garden party. The price is a very reasonable 699 Baht per person nett (i.e. tax and service included).

On Friday 14th, there is a BBQ and International Buffet Dinner on the beach, at 999 Baht nett.
